Yeah, sometimes, but I see some difference there


I think it's very rare for a song, album or artist to win a grammy without high sales. The Grammy Awards seem to be VERY MUCH a popularity contest with the public voting with what they buy.

Oscars? Not as much. Plenty of time the Best Picture has been "the little art house film that could".

Of course, that just makes it a popularity contest among Oscar voters who want to NOT reward the big Blockbusters, but I think Oscars weigh "Merit" a little more.
